Caldwell And Strachan Get Scottish Vote

Former Coventry City defender Gary Caldwell has been named as the Scottish Football Writers Player Of The Year.

Caldwell, who made 36 league appearances for City in 2002/2003, plays for Celtic , told the BBC: "I think I can still improve. I feel as fit as I've ever felt.

"They do say that, nearer to 30, as a centre-back, the experience you've gained over the years can help you. "I feel I've got better every year and that's what you have to do."

Caldwell has also played for Newcastle United and Hibs.

Former Coventry City player and Manager Gordon Strachan has been named as the Scottish Football Writers Manager Of The Year.



The Celtic boss has steered his side to League Cup victory this season and his side are battling it out with Rangers for the Scottish Premier League title.
