Bids Will Be Turned Down - Ranson

Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson has said that any big bids for City players will be turned down but the club could not compete if a Premier League club offered big wages to tempt the likes of Elliott Ward and Danny Fox who have been attracting attention recently.

Under Ranson, City have slashed their wage bill and the days of players getting £10k a week are over.

"If we get any big bids, we will turn them down," said Ranson to the CT. "The problem we have at Coventry City is not the offers we get it is the wages these clubs can command.

"If an Everton or Manchester City come in for a player and they are offering £30-£40k a week, we can't compete with that and that is the issue we may be confronted with not the transfer fee."
