Barrett - We Let Down The Fans

Graham Barrett feels City fans were let down by the team during the defeat by Millwall.

Speaking to the CET,he said "I think the players have got to take responsibility for the Millwall performance.

"The manager prepared us properly and we knew what we were going up against with a powerful team who can cause us problems, and we let the supporters and ourselves down.

"We certainly need something to happen, whether that is someone new coming in or players standing up and performing, because there are good players in the team and the squad and we have got to start taking responsibility and performing.

"I don't think we are too far off recapturing the rhythm from some of our home performances from last year. We haven't had a bad start. Obviously we wanted to carry things forward at the weekend and had we won we would have been third or fourth in the league.

"As a club at the moment the manager is working on a shoestring and we need everyone out there to stick together because it is not an easy time for the club.

"The club has been in the dark ages and the players have got to try to get it out of this league. We have got a good manager and we should be playing better for him and the fans, as well as ourselves.

"So we have got to start kicking into gear and that has got to start against Torquay in the Cup."
