Former Coventry City captain Carl Baker has left Portsmouth FC.

Baker was told by Kenny Jackett last week that he could leave the League One club and today, his contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.

Baker made fifty appearances for Portsmouth scoring nine goals and has been wished well by Pompey.

The Scouser, whose family are in the Coventry region, remains heavily linked to a move back to the Sky Blues with Mark Robins saying that it was fair that the media would come up with an assumption about Baker coming back to Coventry..
