Carl Baker has admitted his delight at signing a new contract with Coventry City.

Baker last week signed a new deal that will keep him at the Ricoh Arena until June 30th 2015 and he told the CT:“To be honest it wasn’t that complicated, not for me, at least.

“These days the agents sort out most things for you although once you agree terms there’s about 100 pieces of paper to sign!

“We’ve been talking with the chairman for the last couple of months and I’m glad it’s all sorted now and I can concentrate on my football.

“I always wanted to stay because I absolutely love the club, the set-up and the stadium and I’ve got some good friends here.

“It was more a question of moving house and sorting out a school and once that was done it was a no-brainer to be honest.

“It’s a big relief – when you’ve got a wife and children to provide for you want your future settled – and now I can concentrate on doing what I do best, which is playing football.

“My ankle is fine and I’ve been working really hard, doing extra running after training, to get my fitness levels back to where they should do.”
