West Bromwich Albion will decide on the future of defender Leon Barnett when his loan at Coventry City expires on January 31st.

City boss Chris Coleman has said that he would like Barnett on a permanent deal but Baggies Boss Roberto Di Matteo will assess his own club's situation before allowing him to leave.

Speaking to the West Brom website, Di Matteo said: "When the loan is up, we will see whether Coventry want to do something or not.

"Leon still has a few weeks left and is quite happy there because he's been playing.

"Coventry are also happy with him but he's still our player and it depends on our own situation."
