The Football League have voted to reduce the number of substitutes able to be named in a match from seven to five.

The decision comes following a vote at a Football League EGM in Leicester.

Clubs will still only be able to use three substitutes from their named substitute players for league matches whilst in keeping with Premier League clubs, seven substitutes are to be named for League Cup and FA Cup matches.
