Away, Away, Away, We Follow The City Away

When the Sky Blue Army are in town attendances are increasing as the large number of Coventry City supporters swell the gates.

However at some of the games I'm surprised we've not taken more. At Barnsley, we could have had 6000 fans only 2500 went.

Apart from MK, Shrewsbury and Wolves we haven't sold out.

At Port Vale & Notts County there was a decent following but there was spaces.

Given how close Walsall is to Cov we took just over 2000.

Swindon just over 1200.
Wimbledon, new ground we didn't sell out and only 502 went.

Carlisle less than 500.
500 fans braved Leyton Orient on a Tuesday night
Bradford just over 700
Hartlepool just over 500

Bristol City nearly 700 for a midweek game.

Last season our average was just over 1100 enough for third best in the league.

Our average to date is just over 1900 second best in the division to Wolves. This has fallen from the previous 2200.

However, it likely to drop again with games against Colchester and Gillingham coming up.

Only Wolves, Shef Utd, Preston and Bradford have an average following to date above 1000.

Wolves lowest following was just over 900 to Gillingham, ours is 439 at Carlisle.

Interesting our average would be good enough for 6th best in the Championship but it's not far short of being third best.

The highest average in the Championship is Leeds with a massive 3186. In League 2, it's Portsmouth with 1234.

Morecambe win the "Did you come on a skateboard?" Award with an average of 119. Only 26 went to Torquay.

Yes the away following is up but given how well the team had been playing and that some fans are going to away games only why aren't we taking more fans?
