Another City Fan Banned

Another Coventry City fan has been banned for three years.

JJ Martin Johnson was given the banning order by Solihull Magistrates Court this week for eleven incidents of football related violence beween November 2009 and January 2010.

Mr Johnson has been banned from attending any league football played in England and Wales for the next three years and is not allowed in the town or city where Coventry City are playing an away match as well as surrendering his passport ahead of England internationals. He is also banned from being in the vicinity of the Ricoh Arena or town three hours before, during, or after a match.

PC Dave Mapp from the West Midlands Police's Football Unit, said to the CT: "More of these orders will follow - that's the message we would like to send out.

"Those who involve themselves in football related violence in Coventry will be dealt with and made subject to a banning order. "That means they will not be able to watch any match or go in the city centre when they are taking place."
