The proposed Coventry Jets American Football game due to have been played on April 15th has been switched to Nuneaton Borough from the Ricoh Arena.

Arena Coventry Limited raised concerns about the pitch which has to stage the Heineken Cup rugby union game and City's last home league game of the season against West Brom on April 28th and felt that the pitch could not be properly prepared in time for those matches.

The decision looks to have cost the Jets at least £5,000 and left their general manager Peter Evans fuming.

He told the CT: "We are devastated. We have put so much effort into staging the game which we hoped would showcase our team to the Coventry public and to European American Football in general. "We could have been left high and dry but Nuneaton Borough have ome to the rescue."

The Jets are speaking to ACL to ensure their game against the London Olympians which is scheduled to take place at the Arena on May 6th will go ahead.
