Former Coventry City loanee Ryan Allsop has said that he wants a new contract with AFC Bournemouth.

The keeper is back at The Cherries after his loan spell with the Sky Blues, where he made 27 appearances ended and speaking to Radio Solent, Allsop said: "First and foremost I want to earn a new deal and see where I go from there.

"I want to push the first-team keepers here to hopefully get up the pecking order and do as well as I can.

"Coventry was a good period for me - it served its purpose, but ultimately it's good to be back at Bournemouth.

"It was for game-time and maybe a little bit of confidence as well. It was good to be back playing league football.

"It's hard, the other keepers are vastly more experienced than me. But it's my job to give the manager something to think about.

"I had a sticky spell at the start of last season: moving up to the Championship was a big step for me and the club. I want to keep pace and move forward with the club and prove I'm good enough to be here."
