Coventry City U18's and Reserve Team coach Lee Carsley has said that City's Academy is doing everything it can to help the youngsters in the first team learn.

"We have enjoyed a really good start to the season," Carsley told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter. "Our performances have been consistent and long may that continue.

"It gives them a big lift when they see other players being given an opportunity to be part of the first team and it helps having the likes of Gael and Cyrus in there to help them out.

"But these guys, Conor, Cyrus and Gael included, are still learning and my team are doing all we can to help them with that.

"I couldn't ask for a better team with Gregor Rioch and Richard Stevens, who have been a huge help and have made my job easier, but I am becoming more experienced and taking on more responsibility.

"They are both very passionate about the academy which they bring into the day-to-day running of the club and I am loving it."

Carsley's side are top of the Academy League having won nine out of eleven matches and are four points clear of Reading who they play tomorrow.
