A Missed Opportunity - Carsley

Coventry City Caretaker Manager Lee Carsley felt the home defeat to Crewe was a wasted opportunity.

“We shot ourselves in the foot with their first goal,” said Carsley to the Coventry Telegraph. “We just weren’t tight enough at a corner which is always disappointing and that gave them a lift at a time when we looked as if we were taking control of the game.

“Even then I thought that we would go on to win and we certainly created plenty of chances but we got caught out by a quick break. That can always happen when you’re pressing but again we should be able to deal with that sort of thing.

“It’s another missed opportunity and it makes things all that much harder but we’re not doing a lot wrong at the moment and we certainly won’t be giving up on the play-offs.

“Tuesday’s game is even more important now, but a good result down there would put us right back in the mix.”
