Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has described having James McPake back in the squad as a great boost.

McPake has been out after breaking a bone in his back in January but will play the second half of City's pre-season game tonight at Hinckley United (7pm kick off)

“James will get his first 45 minutes in the second half and that will hopefully benefit him because he hasn’t played for a while,” said the City boss, who is looking forward to finally being able to call on the Scot he scouted for the club.

“It will be a great boost for him to be back on the pitch," Andy Thorn said to the CT.

"He’s been back in full-time training for four or five days so he will get a good blow out and I imagine he will sleep well tonight.

“I like James. "He wears his heart on his sleeve and he broke his back for this club, so it is nice to see him back. He’s a good, honest lad.

“He has been out a long time so it is going to take a few games to get back up to speed again, but it is good to see him getting game time."
