A Bit Of Sky Blue Poetry

"There is a legend, a distant dream,

That once we had a Sky Blue team,

That was the talk of every street,

And played amongst the soccer elite

Oldies go all misty-eyed

Recalling how they cheered their side

As year on year they rose on up

Some claim they even won the cup

At Highfield Road, on Saturday,

Crowds would flock to see them play,

Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U,

Everton, Arsenal, Tottenham too,

But now as we slide down and down,

And play the likes of Shrewsbury Town,

Local kids in Barca tops,

Don't wish to watch our latest flops,

And think it all a made-up story,

Those ancient tales of Sky Blue glory."
