87 Arrested Before Nuneaton V Lincoln Game

Warwickshire Police have confirmed that they arrested a total of 87 people, predominantly locals, for violent disorder in Nuneaton yesterday.

Warwickshire Police said in a statement that "the disorder broke out in licensed premises ahead of a football match between Nuneaton Town FC and Lincoln City FC, which Nuneaton won 1-0.

The arrests were made from 15.20hrs and continued into the evening.

All those arrested were taken into custody at Nuneaton and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Warwickshire Police is conducting an investigation into the day's events and will be studying CCTV footage as part of their information gathering process."
