Coventry City Chairman Mike McGinnity has said thats he wants an average attendance of 22,000 at the Arena otherwise he'll considering stepping down.

The claim comes in an interview in the Guardian newspaper on Saturday.

Season tickets went on sale last January and only 9,200 ordinary season tickets,a figure the club are disappointed with, despite it being an increase of two thousand on the last season on at Highfield Road.

The article also states that 22,000 is the figure required for City to start making a profit and quotes Mr McGinnity as saying: "I've been retired twice before and it might be time to think about going and using our villa in Mallorca more. "If we don't get the crowds, I certainly will. "The big question is can we get the support? "If we can, then the future is bright; if we can't, then there will be problems down the line yet again."
