Sent To Coventry - Leeds United

Another important game for the Sky Blues brings Leeds United to Highfield Road on January 3rd for a 3pm kick-off.

Having beaten Sunderland on the opening day, under fire City manager Peter Reid will be hoping that his players can put one over another of his former clubs.

Although moral will be boosted by the New Year’s Day win at Rotherham, a flu virus is sweeping the club and it will be all hands to the pump.

Andy Morrell has missed the last two games due to flu which was the official reason given for Stephen Hughes and Louis Carey being replaced at half-time at Rotherham.

The aforementioned victory means that a City victory would see them move above Leeds in the table after the Yorkshire side were beaten 2-0 at home by City’s opponents in the FA Cup, Crewe Alexandra.

Former Sky Blue Julian Joachim may feature in Kevin Blackwell’s side. Joachim was a largely unpopular player during his time at Highfield Road, spending most of it allegedly injured before rejecting a contract and moving to Elland Road for less wages.

Tickets are available and Travel Coventry have announced that their buses in Coventry will operate a Sunday service on Monday for the home game with Leeds United. Off peak fares will apply all day.
