Boosted by the news of Peter Reid’s departure, City look for FA Cup success against Crewe Alexandra.

Coventry go into the game as under-dogs but Adrian Heath knows that victory would improve his chances of staying at Highfield Road.

Heath will have Andy Morrell back after missing the last three games through flu and will also have Eddy Johnson available after tests showed that his toes were not broken. Dele Adebola who was injured in the game against Leeds is rated as doubtful after picking up a groin injury and Morrell could take his place up front.

Definitely out is Stuart Giddings who picked up a suspected broken ankle in the 2-1 defeat by Leeds on Monday, Steve Staunton will deputise.

Crewe boss Dario Gradi has striker Dean Ashton travelling to Norwich City for talks about a possible move. If Ashton does not sign today then he will regain his place in the Railwaymen’s attack.

Mark Rivers is likely to be included and as is defender Anthony Tonkin who showed no reaction to a foot injury sustained in Crewe’s 2-1 defeat by Preston on Monday.

City have twice played Crewe in the FA Cup wining 3-0 in 1933 and 4-1 in 1966.
