Westwood On Form For Warwicks

Ian Westwood hit an unbeaten 144 on the opening day of Warwickshire County Cricket Club's game with Nottinghamshire.

Warwicks batted first and had made 67-1 with Varun Chopra giving his wicket away before an early lunch had to be taken due to rain.

When play resumed, Warwicks batted steadily with Ian Westwood making the majority of the 56 runs before Will Porterfield was out for 14 and nineteen runs later, Shev Chanderpaul went for eight.

Westwood and Troughton batted on. Westwood hit twenty fours from 258 balls in an unbeaten innings of 144 whilst Troughton passed the 7,000 run mark with an unbeaten 33.

Bad light saw play finish early with Warwicks on 235-3.
