Warwickshire County Cricket Club only need forty one runs for victory tomorrow.

Resuming their second innings on 144-4 on the third day of this County Championship game at The Oval, Surrey could only add 101 runs to their total.

The majority of their runs today came through Chris Jordan who made forty and Jon Lewis who made 31.

Both however, could not get past Warwicks bowler Jeetan Patel who took both their wickets in a six wicket haul.

With Surrey, all out for 245, this set Warwicks 222 to win with a day and a half to get them in.

Things did not start well with Varun Chopra lasting only five balls before he was trapped lbw without scoring by Dernbach in the first over.

Whilst Will Porterfield came in and made runs, Warwicks at the other end were losing wickets cheaply. Westwood went for eight, Troughton for a duck and Maddy for one, left them on 37-4.

Porterfield got together with Tim Ambrose and Warwicks passed the one hundred mark and were just coming up to 150 when Porterfield was given out lbw to a ball from Gareth Batty.

Tim Ambrose was 74 not out at stumps with Rikki Clarke 18 not out as Warwicks ended the day, needing 41 more runs with five wickets in hand.
