Kings Heath WCL Champions 2012

Kings Heath returned to winning ways at the top of the Premier Division this week and clinched the WCL title, out congratulations to them. Ian Carey and Richard Blythe shared the winning partnership, after an early wobble chasing a modest 155 all out by Bablake. Sutton Coldfiled brave effort to return to the BDPCL at the first attempt falling to James Taplins spin as his 5 for 53 restricted them to 189 with J Higgins 85 not out cementing the victory, ensuring the Weddington Road club, took 20 points. Kings heath 3rd XI won their division last week and a win next week against Olton and WW will see their reserves complete the clean sweep in Premier 2nds. Handsworth however may have something to say about that but have the tricker match against Bedworth ( 3rd) for who a win could still take them 2nd

Rugby CC Win Division 1, Southam 2nd

A little like last week the first result in is a significant one with Rugby CC defeating Ansley. Matt Ewer taking 6 for 12 to dismiss Ansley for 70 in Division 1 firsts, rugby winning the match by 5 wickets and clinching the division. Southam 2nd also won in a winner tales all match against Walsall WMF and the 20 points to Wallsall's 4 points saw them 2nds when Atherstone could not chase down 266 at Marston Green. Pak Shaheen hosting Warwick who themselves needed the points to get to saftey in the division came unstuck on a day when the results all went the way of the top 2, Southam now certain to be runners up

Division 2 goes to the last day - just

In Division 2 first XI, Solihull Municipal also kept the pressure on Lyndworth and Hampton by completing a victory against Sheldon Marlborough although the win points need to be confirmed for this one, is it 24 or 20 guys ? Hampton also won a game reported as "exceeding sporting" by the umpires despite what was at stake , Matt Proudman 81, Mike Palmer 102 not out by a big margin over Masseys, to remain second ahead of Solihull, but tonight Lyndworth are 1 point away from clinching the division after 24 points at Moseley Ashfield

Anyone from 3 can finish second, Amblesdie Champions

Division 3 saw leaders and 13 times winners handed their first defeat by Wishaw, a 5 wicket win by the visitors. With Corley also winning , Weoley Hill on their bye week had to watch as both teams overtook them in the race for 2nd. Wishaw now look favourites here as Corely and Weoley Hill meet next week whilst they entertain Rowlands but any of the 3 can still close the season second.

Relegation watch

Coleshill remain bottom of the BDPCL tonight with 158 points and are relegated as their possible 182 target can not take them above Penn and they look like joining us in the WCL in 2013. Streetly our champions from 12 months ago ensured they would stay in the BDPCL next season with a 5 wicket win over Studley this week but this means Studley could well make it 2 down. So if you are 3rd from bottom it could mean relegation for you from Premier, D1 and D2, noting D3 is 1 team short already

. Studley have to beat Stourbridge next week to have a chance to stay up, no mean feat as they are pushing for promotion whilst Penn have Wednesbury who if they won could save themselves at Penn's expense. The other team in the mix Litchfield are at Penkeridge and a win by them relegates Studley.
