Warwicks Lose Thrilling Final

Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten in the CB40 Final at Lords due to Hampshire losing fewer wickets.

Warwicks won the toss and put Hants into bat. Jimmy Adams made 66 and Sean Ervine 57 as Hampshire ended their forty overs on 244-5.

The County Champions put on 53 for the first wicket which saw Varun Chopra out for 26. 

Ian Bell made 81, whilst at the other end, Maddy went for 35, Tim Ambrose 26, Jim Troughton five, Clarke 24 and Blackwell 2.

Warwicks who had been behind Hants on the scoring rate, needed seven from the final over.

Blackwell, Woakes and Neil Carter in his final game for Warwicks, provided six runs but needing a run from the final ball, Ali bowled a dot ball and Hants won due to losing fewer wickets.
