Warwickshire County Cricket Club's County Championship game against Sussex at Edgbaston predicably ended in a draw but still sent them to the top of the County Championship table.

With no play on Friday and Saturday, Warwicks resumed on 175-3 and quickly lost Darren Maddy for 21 and Tim Ambrose without scoring.

Jim Troughton had worked well but he went after making 81 when he was caught by Wells to see Warwicks on 265-6.

At the other end, Rikki Clarke was in great form, hitting an unbeaten 110 from 105 balls including 15 fours and a six when Warwicks declared on 400-8 after Woakes was out for 12 and Barker for 34.

Monty Panesar had taken four wickets in Warwickshire's first innings but Jeetan Patel went one better, taking the wickets of Nash who had made 33, Prior, Anyon and Magoffin whilst Clarke took the wickets of Wells, Goodwin and Yardy to see Sussex all out for 191.

The game was then declared a draw.
