Good Start For Warwickshire

Warwickshire County Cricket Club made good progess on the opening day of their match against Surrey.

Warwicks batted first at Edgbaston and had passed the one hundred run mark without losing a wicket by lunch.

However, in the second session, Varun Chopra was first to go when he was bowled by Chris Jordan after making sixty and then Will Porterfield, back from international action with Ireland was out for eight.

Ian Westwood hit 67 before he trapped lbw by Batty and when Darren Maddy went for four, Warwicks had lost four wickets for 67 runs.

However, Jim Troughton who hit an unbeaten 74 and Richard Johnson put on 98 before Johnson was caught by de Bruyn.

Although Rikki Clarke went for five, Warwicks ended the day on a good score of 322-6.
