Dylan Groenwegen Wins The Tour de l'Eurometropole

LottoNL-Jumbo's Dylan Groenwegen has won the 76th Tour de l'Eurometropole race.

A 195.6km Napoleon Games Cup race from Poperinge to Tournai, which was won by British rider Adam Blythe in 2010 and Alexis Gougegard in 2015

This race in Belgium, finished with six fourteen kilometres laps and it was eighteen riders in Boonen, Vermote, Maes, Gaviria, Naesen, Debusschere, Roelandts, Wallays, Vorobyev, Politt, Wynants, Groenewegen, Senechal, Van Bilsen, Capiot and Calleeuw who  started on the finishing circuits with about the same number left in the peloton some 2.52 back with 56kms to go on a wet afternoon after an original break of 48 riders had got away.

With three laps to go, the gap was at 3.30 so Pim Ligthart jumped out of the peloton and went after those in the break.

A lap later and the lead group had split but those still in the race were all back together going into the final kilometre. Jens Debusschere attacked as Dylan Groenwegen, the Dutch natonal champion, went with Oliver Naesen of IAM Cycling and Groenwegen initially took the win but there were protests bur Dylan Groenwegen of IAM Cycling took the win.
