A remarkable match at the top of the Premier division worthy of it status of match of the day, Top of the table Marston Green hosted Bedworth. Marston Green is known as a high scoring ground and the Bedworth captain on winning the toss batted. Luke Reeves opening got them off to a flying start with a 16 ball 50 (including 5 dots) and made his 93 in 12 overs. David Jakeman the other opener anchored the innings making his 101 not out carrying his bat and Jason Jakeman contributed a 50. Bedworth 329 for 8. The Marston Green response saw Asif Ali make use of an early missed chance to make 115 and Bashir 56 and it was not until opening bowler Paul Oldham returned for his third spell that Bedworth gained control of the match, the final wicket falling with 2 balls to go, for a 26 run win. Bedworth leapfrog Marston Green and are joint top with Handsworth. Handsworth with Renrick Hooper 123 were another side to get past 300 with 306 for 6 at Hampton and Solihull. Hampton is a great batting track however and although the home side never looked like making the 307 to win they easily hung on for a draw. Matt James 111 not out leading from the front as captain shared an unbeaten 100 run partnership with Richard Brown for the 5th wicket. The winning Draw and bonus points 15 was 9 lesss than Bedworths win, that was the margin between the clubs at the start of the day hence now they are joint top of a premier division which is exceedingly close as Olton and West Warwick and Bablake also have over 100 points. A mention this week for Harry Wilkins (aged 15) who took 8 for 29 for Bulkington seconds, unfortunately beaten for best bowling of the week, by Ejaz at Thimblemill with a 9 for, but a remarkable performance form the young man Best Performances
