Division 2 1st saw the closest of finishes to the season, Lyndworth having won and taken 24 points but knowing a Knowle Village win would take them top by 2. Knowle Village 199 all out, a competitive total saw Castle Bromwich batsman Jon Hipkiss with the day’s best 122 unbeaten at the end steer his side home with 1 wicket standing. In Division 3 Leamington Khalsa 2nd playing Sheldon Marlborough 3rd won and dropped their rivals to 5th place. That win meant the top 2 were known but Hunningham needed a single point from their fixture against North Warwick to get the title. Having missed out last week against Oakfield, Hunningham did not repeat the mistake and batting first made 306 for 8, Jake Hill 76 and Ed Pettifer 64. 34 overs later with North Warwickshire 180 all out that was that, Hunningham champions. Division 1 Ambleside hoping that Marston Green 2nd and Solihull Municipal leading would slip up. All 3 sides however won with maximum points, Solihull Municipal champions and Marston Green Runners up. The premier division was settled last week, but Bedworth still had some work to do to take the second spot. Best bowling on the day from Sam Smart 8 for 54 saw them home against relegated Solihull Blossemfield after Bedworth made an impressive 303 for 9. Olton obtained a winning draw against champions Aston Manor with a score of 282 for 9. In the second team divisions, Bedworth had already sewn up premier reserves, but Bablake’s win at Handsworth held off the rest to claim 2nd. Pakshaheen claimed at fast win at home to Studley, losing 3 wickets chasing 55, but Southam gained the title with a win at Bronze, scoring the 235 to win in 47 overs. Division 2 see Pickwick top and Lyndworth runners up, both winners on the day, whilst division 3 is still undecided with Leamington Khalsa hosting Solihull Blossemfield next weekend in the fixture arranged due to the calling off of the original by a third party. Here Dunlop with their win are top and Solihull Blossemfield with 5 points can go above them. Leamington Khalsa can get to 3rd.
* the match between Solihull Blossomfield and Leamington Khalsa is to be replayed on 20th September and the tables reflect 21 matches for these sides instead of 20, after the original fixture was mischievously called off by a third party.
