With the programme rained off this Monday all teams gained 4 points. A full program however on Saturday and several division were decided
The Bank holiday weekend usually sorts out a few promotion and relegation issues, and this Saturday saw the penultimate game in several divisions. Division 4 first was resolved with Wolvey CC champions elect as the beat Collycroft with R Hawkins 7 FOR 53 making the best of the day list, whilst Wlamley 3rds were going down to a Wilnecote side who scored 285 in their 50 overs, R McKenna 96. The 18 point gain takes Wolvey’s advantage to 30 points with only 24 on offer in the last matches, Walmley will be runners up.
Division 5 Sees Aston Manor and Attock both with tricky last day fixtures vs Moseley and Bridge Trust respectively. Their draws yesterday however mean that Bablake 3rd can not catch either of them. The decisive result being the draw between Bablake and Moseley were in a rain affected match Bablake had the better of the points based on run rate but fialed to secure a win which would have kept them in the race. Aston Manor took 17 points from Ward End Unity, whilst Attock put up the best of the day 412 for 7 in a 273 run win versus Olton and WW.
Division 6 seems to change every week, this week no exception. Continental Star went top and Thimblemill second, Thimblemill making the highlights this week by dismissing Copsewood for 39. All the more extraordinary because Copsewood were top at the time, Omar Hanif 6 for 27.
Meriden Spartans must have had a slight hangover have won the division last week and Berkswll 3rds cashed in with 303, but their credit Meriden did not give in and gained a draw to accumulate a futher 9 points.
I am writing to clubs in some of the other 3rd XI divisions this week, specifically division 1 E and division 2 west and division 2e. Drop outs from these divisions, added to by Newbold and Four Oaks Saints 5th cancelling this week have complicated the tables. Division 1 East and Division 2 east because we started with 24 clubs across the 2 division is now complicated in terms of working out the tables.
An extraordinary feat at Bablake 2nds were Guy Eames scored 6 sixes off an over in their winning draw.
Here are the states of play in the tables coming to the last weekend, these are provisional as I also received a few score corrections today, it rained a bit and it seems calculating the draw points has been difficult for a few clubs !.
