Warwickshire County Cricket Club bowled out Worcestershire on the opening day of their County Championship game at New Road.

Worcestershire started well after Chris Wright had Oliver out for 27 with thirty runs on the board and Mitchell and Ali moved the score onto 104 before Wright had his second wicket when Javid caught Mitchell.

That sparked a collapse and Worcestershire went from 104-2 to 243 all out.

Barker removed Fell for four and Wright had Gidman caught for four before Ali went for 45 to give Barker another wicket.

Boyd Rankin caught and bowled Leach, Patal had Cox out for three and Joe Clarke who had made fifty was caught by Trott to give Rankin a second wicket.

Barker removed Saeed Ajamal and Shantry and the Pears were all out for 243.

Warwicks lost both Chopra and Javid for nine which brought to the crease Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott who only last three balls before being caught by Gidman.

Laurie Evans went for one to leave Warwicks on 39-4 in the sixteenth over.

However, Bell who was 46 not out and Tim Ambrose who was 31 not out, steered Warwicks to 101-4 at stumps.
