Warwicks Allow Sussex To Pile On The Runs

Warwickshire County Cricket Club allowed Sussex to make 601 runs before declaring on the second day of their County Championship game at Edgbaston.

Sussex resumed on 280-3 and had Chris Nash go on to make 121 before Patal had him stumped by Tim Ambrose.

Patal also bowled Luke Wright who had been the overnight watchman with Nash, after he had made 110.

Ben Brown and Ashar Zaidi came together and put on 191 for the sixth wicket which saw another stumping for Tim Ambrose off the bowling of Laurie Evans who was one of eight bowlers used by Warwicks.

When the six hundred mark was reached, Sussex declared with Brown 119 not out.

Warwicks batted and lost Varun Chopra for six, Ateeq Javid for a duck and Ian Westwood for twenty as they closed on 62-3.
