Tour De France - A Race Of Nations

The 102nd Tour De France will be a race of nations.

According to Pro Cycling Stats, the riders from the twenty two teams will be made up of riders from thirty two different nations.

There will be ten British riders in Chris Froome, Peter Kennaugh, Geraint Thomas, Ian Stannard and Luke Rowe, Mark Cavendish, Adam and Simon Yates, Steve Cummings and Alex Dowsett of Movistar, in a race which will see forty one Frenchmen taking part, twenty Dutch riders, sixteen Italians, fifteen Spaniards and eleven from Belgium with ten from Australia.

Ireland with Nicholas Roche, Dan Martin and debutant Sam Bennett will  will have three representatives as will the USA.

The oldest rider in the race is 41 year old Matteo Tosatto riding in his 32nd grand tour and the youngest is MTN Qhubeka's Merhawi Kudus of Eritrea.

Forty five riders will make their debut in the race which starts on Saturday in Utrecht.
