Paris-Nice Race Route Revealed

The route for the 2015 Paris-Nice race has been revealed by race organisers ASO at a press conference in Versailles

The race to the sun which runs from March 8th to 15th, did not have a time trial in the 2014 race but this year, organisers have decided that there will be two with the first a 6.7 kilometre prologue in Maurepas on March 8th.

Stage one sees the race depart Sain-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse on a 192 kilometre stage to Contres with stage two leaving the ZooParc de Beauval, close to Châteauvieux. and heading on a 172 kilometre stage to Saint-Amand-Montrond, which will host the depart of stage three to Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule

The fourth stage is the longest stage of the race and will feature eight climbs as the race goes into the mountains. Starting in Varennes-sur-Allier, this 204km stage will have a mountain top finish on the La Croix de Chaubouret, which has a ten kilometre long ascent to it.

Stage five is 192kms long and sees the stage start in Saint-Etienne and finish in Rasteau after taking the riders over the Col de la République.

The penultimate stage features six climbs including three category one climbs on a stage which starts in Vence and finishes in Nice.

The riders from the seventeen UCI World Tour teams plus wild card entries Cofidis, Bretagne Séché-Environment and Europcar finish the race with a 9.6km time trial from Nice to the race's traditional finishing points on the Col d’Èze.
