MTN Qhubeka Announce First Ever Tour De France Team

Team MTN-Qhubeka presented/by Samsung have announced their team for the 102nd Tour De France

The team will be the first ever African team in a Tour De France race and more than half of their nine man side will be from the African continent.

This includes the first riders from Eritrea to race in the Grande Boucle in Merhawi Kudus and Daniel Teklehaimanot, who did well in the breaks in the Criterium du Dauphine and three South African riders, all of whom make their TDF debuts in African champion Louis Meintjes, South African champion Jacques Janse van Rensburg, and Reinardt Janse van Rensburg.

MTN Qhubeka have also gone for experience with American Tyler Farrar, who had Grand Tour stage winning experience, Edvald Boasson Hagen, who was part of the Team Sky team which twice won the race, plus Englishman Steve Cummings from The Wirral, who has ridden for Team Sky and BMC in the race and can attack in a break or time trial and Belgium's Serge Pauwels.
