Linus Gerdemann Wins Tour De Luxembourg

Cult Energy's Linus Gerdemann has won the Tour De Luxembourg.

Cult Energy's Linus Gerdemann had an eight second lead going into the final 156km stage from Mersch to Luxembourg City.

Eleven riders in Sean de Bie, Kenneth van Bilsen, Jimmy Engoulvent, Jaco Venter, Frederic Brun, Simone Antonini, Bjorn Leukemanns, Leonarde Duque, Oiliver, Chevalier, Antoine Demoite and Kristian Haugaard, formed a break and were 6.45 ahead and 5.25 with 75kms gone.

With just under fifty kilometres of this race left, the eleven had a lead of 4.30 and fifteen kilometres later, they were 3.10 ahead.

The break started to split as they started on four laps of 6.7kms which included the Pabeierbierg climb.

Only five riders in Duque, Engoulvent, Van Bilsen, Leukemans and de Bie. were left in the break with one lap to go and they started the lap with a lead to the race leader Linus Gerdemann of 1.30.

Into the final kilometres and it was Sean de Bie! of Lotto Soudal who broke clear to take the win ahead of Leonardo Duque of Team Colombia.

Linus Gerdemann finished safely in the peloton to take the overall victory.
