Coventry Bees riders Chris Harris and Danny King rode for Great Britain in a Speedway World Cup Race Off

In Vojens, Denmark, Great Britain took on Poland, Russia and America in a bid to book the one remaining place in the Speedway World Cup Final on Saturday.

Danny King was the first Bees rider off and took a third place in heat two. Robert Lambert won for Britain in heat three and with no Russian rider in heat four, Chris Harris gated well but was beaten on the line by Krzysztof Buczkowski for a second place.

Harris went again in heat five which had to be re-run and finished second again to former Bees rider Przemylsaw Pawlicki to see Britain two points behind leaders Poland.

Danny King went for GB in heat seven with Britain four points behind Poland. There was a big crash with three riders down, although King was quickly up. All four riders were back and King took a second place before Tai Woffinden won to reduce Poland's lead to three points.

Danny King rode in heat nine and went into the lead before Bartosz Zmarzlik cut him off and took the win.

Chris Harris went in heat eleven after Woffinden had taken his third win of the night. Harris had a poor start and tried but failed to get any points.

That meant that Poland were six points clear on Great Britain so Robert Lambert was replaced by Woffinden for heat twelve and Britain played their joker for double points.

Woffinden won and with Przemylsaw Pawlicki disqualified, Britain were back level at the top with Poland.

Chris Harris finished third in heat thirteen and in heat fifteen, Woffinden won to have Britain in front with five heats left.

Danny King's fourth ride was in heat sixteen and he battled with the Russian befoe going to the back on the last lap, allowing Janowski to get Poland a win and put them two points ahead.

Woffinden won heat eighteen to take his total to twenty one points for the evening and put Britain within three points of Poland.

Chris Harris went in heat nineteen and dropped to last on the first lap before forcing his way up to second but Krzysztof Buczkowski took the win to book Poland's place in the Final.

Danny King rode in the 20th and final heat and finished second to give him seven points.

Final score - Poland 48, Great Britain 43, USA 22, Russia 11
