Dimitri Claeys of the Veranda's Willems team has won the fourth stage of the Tour Of Croatia.

Stage Four saw Maciej Paterski in the lead for a 152km stage from Pula to Umag.

However, after fifty kilometres, it was Paterski's CCC Sprandl team mate-mate Grega Bole, the first leader of this race, who was in the break with Bernas, Bille and Claeys.

Bole eventually dropped back and with the three no threat to the jersey of Paterski, they were allowed to stay clear and for Dimitri Claeys from Veranda's Willems to win the race ahead of ActiveJet's Pawel Bernas.

"I had planned an attempt to win this stage even before Tour of Croatia has started, said Claeys.

"Knowing that the main contenders would be exhausted after the third stage, my coach and myself made a decision to go for the stage victory. I was aggressive throughout the race, participating in every single breakaway that took place.

After some 40 to 50 kilometres, when four of us remained clear, I knew it would end good only if the peloton let us get enough distance

"We had that luck all until the end so everything ended superbly for me"
