Against what is basically Gloucester's reserve side, Cov went down to a 21-23 defeat.
A crowd of 1053 saw Lespierre put Cov ahead with a first minute try but five minutes later, Thompson kicked a penalty and Voss ran in a try which was converted by Thompson.
Knox scored from a 32nd minute try for Cov and Jones kicked a penalty but the visitors to the Butts Park Arena led at half-time when Polledri scored a try and Thompson converted.
Cov scored a 52nd minute try from Price but Thompson kicked two penalties as did Jones, who kicked a 73rd minute penalty.
But it was not enough from Cov and they went down to their first defeat of the season.
