Davide Cimolai Wins The Trofeo Laigueglia

Davide Cimolai of Lampre Merida has won the 52nd Trofeo Laigueglia in Italy.

This annual one day race was over 191.8kms, featuring the likes of irishman Dan Martin of Cannondale-Garmin and saw Jonathan Paredes, Nicola Gaffurini, Adriano Brogi and Jerome Cousin form the days break.

They were 4.10 clear with 110kms kilometres gone before the peloton brought them back and going into the last fifty kilometres of the stage, their lead was forty five seconds.

With thirty eight kilometres left, the break was over and there was a number of attacks but the race came down to a sprint which Davide Cimolai of Lampre Merida won ahead of Southeast's Francesco Gavazzi and Amael Moinard of BMC, followed by Montaguti, Fellini, Tulik, Bookwalter, Guldhammer, Petilli and Lefrancois.
