Coventry Rugby Club suffered a rare home defeat with a 22-20 loss to Hartpury College.

A crowd of 1540 saw Cliff Hodfson kicked a sixth minute penalty but Hartpury who are a feeder team for Gloucester Rugby Club equalised with a tenth minute Thompson penalty.

Four minutes later, Brown ran in a try for the visitors, which was converted by Thompson and in the 33rd minute, Bowden scored a try to see the college lead 15-3 at half-time.

Cov were straight on the scoreboard in the second half with a 41st minute Jones try which he converted and Molitika scored with a 66th minute try which Hodgson, who kicked a penalty in the 69th minute, converted.

However, Vellacote had scored a try in the second haf which Thompson converted and that was enough to send Cov to defeat.
