Coventry Cycle Speedway club have confirmed that the club will apply for Elite League status in 2016. The club formally took the decision at a well attended club meeting in Coventry last week.

The club already have several Elite League standard riders, including Dominik Rycharski, Myke Grimes, Bobby McMillan, Mason Phillips, Kyle Roberts and Konrad Piatek signed as fully owned Coventry assets. They also have a selection of emerging riders. A number of top riders have already indicated their interest in racing for Coventry if they obtained future Elite League status.

Considerable off track facility improvements are already under way to underscore their application. These are expected to be completed before the highlight of the 2015 season at Hearsall Common – the Great Britain V Australia Test match – takes place on Thursday 6th August.

It is expected that Coventry`s promotional prowess, and the ability to attract major sponsorship, is likely to enhance their prospects of being elected to the Elite League in 2016.
