Costa Wins In Montreal

Movistar's Rui Costa won the Montreal Grand Prix cycling event this evening.

A race of 205.7kms around the Canadian city had the same field that competed in Quebec on Friday and over 4,000m of climbs.

HTC Highroad rider Danny Pate took a lot of the points on the first fifteen laps, picking up 28 King Of The Mountains points, before the peloton was back together for the final lap.

The attacks started to come with Leopard Trek's Stefan Denfl and Levi Leipheimer doing plenty of work.

Phillipe Gilbert who won on Friday was playing a watching game.as Gianpauolo Caruso attacked with 5kms to go.

With two kms to go, three riders were clear. Phillipe Gilbert went after them but could only get third as Rui Costa won the race in a time of 5hr 20 mins and 18 seconds ahead of Fedrigo.
