Mark Cavendish feels that no-one can predict how good the atmosphere will be when the Tour De France starts in Leeds on Saturday.

Cavendish, speaking at his Omega Pharma Quick Step team's press conference said: "The support from fans so far has been phenomenal.

"The vibe I got when I did ny re-con a few weeks ago was something I have never seen.

"2007 in London was good and people still talk about it but I am sure that London will out do that.

"No-one can determine how big this will be.

Cavendish, who will be looking to win the first stage which finishes in his mother's home town, said that it would be nice to wear yellow but his team had put together a strong team and the Tour De France was three weeks long and goes on after it leaves Yorkshire.
