Brandle Wins Belgium Tour Time Trial

Matthias Brändle of IAM Cycling has won the Baloise Belgium Tour Time Trial.

This annual race started its 2015 edition with a time trial of 6.8kms in Bornem.

Oliver Pardini was first man down the ramp but it was Etixx Quick Step's Yves Lampaert, who set the early time to beat of 8.13, some seven seconds quicker than his team mate Niki Terpstra, who had been one of the favourites for the stage.

Martin Elmiger of IAM Cycling set the next fastest time of 8.03.94 but former World Hour Record holder Matthias Brändle was in great form and flew home to become the first rider to set a sub eight minutes time when he finished in 7.54. 

Gaetan Bille of the Veranda Willems team put in a great ride to go second finishing in 8.03.

Etixx Quick Step's Guillame Van Keirsbulck was the last man down the ramp as Rohan Dennis came home to set the second fastest time in 7.56, giving Matthias Brandle the win.
