Bos Win Eneco Tour Third Stage

Rabobank's Theo Bos won the third stage of the Eneco Tour of the Benelux Countries this afternoon.

A 188km stage saw the race, minus BMC's Klaas Lodewyck who had fallen yesterday, leave Riemst and head for the Belgium city of  Genk. 

Four riders in Laurens De Vreese (TSV), James Vanlandschoot (ACC), Matteo Bono (LAM) and Alex Dowsett of Team Sky broke clear.

Dowsett took the first two sprints as the quartet bullt up a four minute lead with 80kms to go.

They had added seven seconds as the stage went through Maas heading towards part of the circuit which will be used for the World Championships in October.

Top Sports Laurens De Vreese went away to claim the KOM points on the Causberg with 76kms to go.

With 68kms to go, Dowsett took the three seconds bonus for winning his third sprint of the day.

Their lead was only 55 seconds as they came onto the final lap of twenty kilometres and was eventually mopped up by a peloton including race leader Jens Keukeleire.

The speed ramped up. Marcel Kittel punctured with four to go as Rabobank took to the front.

Riders were up on the pavements trying to get the best advantage but it was a bunch sprint and Theo Bos just won in a time of 4.14.08 with Dagenklob second and Haussler third.

Jens Keukeleire keep his lead in the race.
