BMC took the win on the Critérium du Dauphiné Team Time Trial.

Stage three was a  24.5 kilometre team time trial from Roanne to Montagny and saw FDJ as the first team down the ramp.

However, it was favourites BMC who set the early fastest time at the  intermediate checkpoint with a time of 15:56.

FDJ finished the course in 31.48,80 but  Giant Alpecin came home eighteen seconds faster before BMC finished in 29.58 to set the benchmark.

Astana came in 3.54 seconds down to go second with Movistar finishing five seconds down before Team Sky were the last team off departing at 2.15pm local time.

Like a number of teams, Team Sky finished the course with only five riders including Froome, Nicholas Roche and race leader Peter Kennaugh as they came home 34 seconds down on the time set by  BMC, who took the win.

That win was also good enough for Rohan Dennis to take over the lead of the race with the same time as his team mate Tejay Van Garderen.
