Blaze Beaten In Goal Frenzy Game

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team were beaten 10-8  in a goal frenzy game by Belfast Giants at the Sky Dome.

Kris Beech had Belfast ahead after only 39 seconds and Mark Garside scored a second on 3.09 before the Blaze got on the board with a powerplay goal from Neil Trimm, assisted by Tanaka and Robinson on 4.54

Benedict made it 3-1 on 5.57 with a fourth from Radja on 8.56 but back came the Blaze with Drew Fisher scoring a powerplay goal on 12.53, assisted by Jim Jorgensen and Lukacevic.

Neil Trim with a powerplay goal on 17.40 and Ashley Tait on 18.51 ensured that the Blaze ended the first period level at 4-4.

Into the second period and after only nine seconds, Ashley Tait scored again, assisted by Cowley and Venus and it was six when Cale Tanaka scored on 21.33 with a powerplay goal, assisted by Robinson and Jorgensen.

On the powerplay, Belfast then scored twice through Desmaris and Radja who scored again on 29.38 to see Belfast 7-6 up at the end of the third.

Belfast scored through Lloyd on 41.03 with a short-handed goal and Mark Garside scored a ninth on 43.32.

The goal kept coming and the Blaze scored through first Carl Lauzon on 50.54 with a goal on the powerplay and Michael Quesnele scored an eighth goal for the Blaze on 52.53 also on the powerplay.

Jeff Mason scored a tenth for Belfast in the 56th minute to send the Blaze to a 10-8 defeat.
