Blaze Beat Belfast Again

Coventry Blaze beat the Belfast Giants 3-2 for the second successive game tonight.

In their second of two games against the Giants, the Blaze, in front of a crowd of 2,378, took a lead on 1.41 through Jakub Sindel, assisted by Ashley Tait and Ross Venus but Belfast levelled on 5.29 through Colin Shields and then took the lead through a Ray Sawada powerplay goal on 12.28.

Derek Lee levelled on 14.33, assisted by Venus and Jorgenson and with no more goals, it looked like the game was going to over-time.

However, with three seconds of the match left, Russ Cowley scored, assisted by Craig Cescon to give the Blaze a 3-2 victory.
