Armstrong To Donate To Flood Disaster Fund

Cyclist Lance Armstrong who is in Australia preparing for The Tour Down Under which starts on Tuesday has pledged $50,000 to the relief efforts in the Australian state of Queensland.



Flood waters surged through Brisbane leaving more than 30 suburbs under water and thousands of homes submerged and Queensland according to its Premier Anna Bligh is facing a reconstruction task of "post war proportions".

Seven times Tour De France winner Armstrong is taking part in a ride to raise funds for the relief effort at Wigley Reserve, Glenelg on Saturday morning and has urged people to donate via the following website www.qld.gov.au/floods
