According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, 2012 Tour De France winner, Olympic Time Trial champion and BBC Sports Personality Of The Year is in line for a knighthood.

Wiggins is already a CBE  and if he accepts the title, could be named on New Years Day in the next round of honours.

Also expected to get a knighthood is David Brailsford (Pictured Below). The Team Sky boss, who helped mastermind the 2012 Tour De France victory along with Sean Yeats and Shane Sutton to name but a few, used his talents to help Biritsh cyclists bujild on previous olympic and paralympic successes and take even more medals in 2012.

Paralympian rider Sarah Storey who won four gold medals is expected to be made a Dame, according to the paper.
